Jevtana (Cabazitaxel)

JEVTANA is used to treat prostate Cancer

JEVTANA it helps in fighting tumours that have developed resistance to docetaxel. Cabazitaxel is the generic name Jevtana. It is an anti-cancer/antineoplastic/cytotoxic chemotherapy drug. It is categorised as taxane derivitive and anti-microtubule agent. It is used along with Prednisone for the treatment of castrate resistant metastatic prostate cancer. It is a microtubule inhibitor. Microtubules are important for cell division, and taxanes, help in stabilizing the protein present in microtubule, thus inhibiting cell division. This prevention of cell division results in cell death. Research is also looking at cabazitaxel as a treatment for other types of cancer.
